A bit about me

Hi, my name is Hannah Mills, I am 28 and live in Tāmaki Makaurau. A couple years ago I discovered a new and exciting passion of mine in pottery and wanted to create fun, happy and colourful pieces to brighten people’s home and days.

During the last lockdown I created my small business, ‘Hemy Pottery’ named after a play on my initials. All pieces are hand made and hand painted by myself and it gave me so much joy and something to focus on during the rough times lockdown brings. Now that lockdowns are behind us, I am passionate about sharing the happiness my craft brings me and creating things that will hopefully put smiles on people’s faces!

Every piece you see has been hand painted and handmade by myself either on a pottery wheel or by hand building. Therefore there maybe slight variations across pieces meaning that every piece is unique!

I strive to keep my business eco friendly and sustainable by only using recyclable packaging or reusing materials already on hand. All waste clay is also recycled into new art.

I make a range of colourful dinnerware including cups, mugs, jugs, plates, bowls and teapots. I also make vases, ring holders, Xmas decorations, trinket dishes, jewellery holders, pen/toothbrush holders and plant pots.
